ABOUT

A multifaceted collaborative pianist, vocal coach, and instructor, my work is relational and shaped by years of study and experience.

My work spans vocal and instrumental repertoire, with particular strengths in French diction as a bilingual speaker, rhythmically complex contemporary music, and multidisciplinary projects. As a performer, I approach each score with diligence, prepared to show up fully on stage—adrenaline welcomed—yielded to the moment with sensitivity to my fellow artists.

I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano Performance and Vocal Coaching from the University of Minnesota. I also earned a Master of Arts in Collaborative Piano Performance with a concentration in Music Industry from Houghton University, and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Olivet Nazarene University.

Throughout my training, I studied voice and violin alongside piano—experiences that continue to inform my teaching, coaching, and collaborative work. Approaching music through multiple lenses inspires how I create. I have a strong symphonic ear from years of orchestral violin playing, which informs my sense of texture, balance, color, and dynamic range at the keys. My background in voice enriches flow, phrasing, and expressive clarity within my playing.

ME

I currently work as a freelance collaborative pianist throughout the Twin Cities and beyond. My work includes rehearsals, auditions, competitions, and concerts with guest artists. I coach opera singers, perform new works by living composers and playwrights, and play solo piano for ballet. I also serve as pianist for the Oratorio Society of Minnesota under Artistic Director Matthew Mehaffey, and I teach private piano and voice lessons with an unconventional approach.

Outside of my career, I value staying physically active and creatively engaged. I enjoy trail running, skiing, and bouldering, along with gardening, concocting in the kitchen, dabbling in watercolor, writing poetry, and recording original songs. These pursuits stimulate my mind and body and ultimately feed back into my music-making. Art doesn’t exist in a vacuum, after all.
